A complete, Ex-certified robot package
Sixteen years and four generations of robots. ExRobotics and its software partner Energy Robotics provide everything you need — platform, payloads, accessories, cloud software and services.
ExR-2.5 Robot
ExR-2.5 robots are modular with a range of optional extras. Certified for potentially explosive gas locations, they are highly manoeuvrable and built to run for at least six months without physical human intervention.

Inspection Module
A range of panning inspection options mount on top of the ExR-2.5, with optional fixed upward and forward-facing cameras. The panning module combines tilting/zooming optical, thermal and acoustic cameras chosen to suit the application — and the range is constantly expanding.
Cargo Hold
A large cargo hold carries up to two gas detectors from a wide range, a speaker for emergency response, a microphone, and/or an acoustic leak detector.
Patented Charging
The induction charging system is patented for use in potentially explosive gas environments (US 11518256; UK 2581680; NO 20200498; NL 2019636; AU 2018341394; CA 3077015; filed in Brazil).
Patented LiDAR
The LiDAR compensates for the thick Ex enclosure window (UK ref 4403954; US 2024-0219916; SG 10202303580U) to enable fully autonomous missions.
Sensors that create value
We work with product partners to deploy their technology on our robots, expanding what each mission can measure and detect.
- FLIR Thermal IR Cameras for temperature measurement
- Motion Amplification Camera for vibration management
- Dongle for wall thickness measurement
- Acoustic Camera for leak and fault detection
- Optical zoom cameras for gauge and dial reading
- Fixed-point and open-path gas detectors
Everything to deploy
Docking Station
ExR-2.5 robots charge autonomously on a docking station. The patented induction charger is certified for potentially explosive gas locations and connects to a standard 110–240 VAC supply.
Quick Charger
Robots can be supplied with a power socket for charging when a docking station isn't available. The quick charger plugs into a standard 110–240 VAC supply.
Flight Case
Robots, docking stations and accessories travel in customised flight cases with lockable wheels. Remove the lid and end panel, fit the ramp, and drive the robot in and out.
Connect to your robots from anywhere
The cloud software provided by our partner Energy Robotics lets customers control and collect data from their robots anywhere in the world.
Communications
Robots communicate with the cloud over the public 4G network using a standard micro-SIM. An encrypted VPN tunnel secures the data, with private networks and WiFi also available.
Remote Control
A fleet management screen connects operators to their robots. Drivers use a laptop, trackpad and USB controller to operate the robot, with video streams, status and controls in one intuitive window.
Autonomous Control
The robot builds a LiDAR map of its environment. Customers place Points of Interest, teach the data to collect at each, and group them into missions the robot runs fully autonomously.
Reporting & Skills
Mission reports display images, sound recordings and gas concentrations along the route, transferable via a standard API. Skills include audio analysis, thermal annotation, manometer reading, valve and fire-extinguisher detection, and face blurring.
Support for the long term
ExRobotics works with regional partners to service and maintain robots, and to help customers derive value from them quickly.
Customer Success Journey
Pre-delivery ensures routes are viable and your team is ready. Post-delivery installs the docking station and trains operators. Coaching provides remote support while your team hones its skills.
Robots as a Service
Prefer to lease rather than purchase? ExRobotics offers three-year contracts with annual fees.
Mission as a Service
Want the data without training staff? ExRobotics and regional partners inspect the site, programme and supervise missions, and feed data straight into your control systems.
Premium Robot Availability
For demanding locations that need very high availability, a back-up robot can be quickly deployed in the event of unexpected issues.
